Configuring the ZigBee Coordinator on the ZB Access Point Locally through the Energy Manager

The ZB Access Point communications to the Energy Manager/eBox over HomePlug communications and acts as a ZigBee Coordinator for other ZigBee-based sensors to connect to. The ZB Access Point is not merely a simple ZigBee router that creates a wireless mesh. Instead, the ZB Access Point creates a secondary Personal Area Network (PAN) within your original ZigBee Network from the Energy Manager. Please refer to Typical Jetlun Network Connection section for more information.

To configure the ZigBee network on the ZB Access Point to allow nearby sensors to connect to it instead of the Energy Manager, follow the below steps:

  1. Log into the Energy Manager locally.
  2. Under the Home Area Network page, click on the Controls in the sub menu.
  3. Locate the correct ZB Access Point and click on the ZigBee icon.
  4. A window will pop up where you can select your Channel ID, Power Level and input your PAN ID.
  5. Click on the FORM button to form your ZigBee network.
  6. Next, set your joining permissions and click on the EXECUTE button.

NOTE: Remember to turn off joining permissions after you have successfully connect all the ZigBee sensors to the ZB Access Point.

NOTE: In general, you can leave the Channel ID and PAN ID to its default settings. For Advanced Users, if you have more than one ZigBee Networks, please ensure that each ZigBee network have a different Channel ID and PAN ID. The PAN ID must be 4 Hex characters. (From 0000 to FFFF.)
