Connecting to the Smart Meter

Please contact your local utility to see if they support this feature and allow devices to connect to their Smart Meter. If your local utility allow you to connect, please ensure you read all instructions that came from your local utility before following the steps below.


NOTE: You will need to provide the EUI and the Install Code of the ZB Appliance Module to your local utility in order for them to provision their Smart Meter to allow your device to join. The EUI and the Install Code is located on the product label on the back of the device and it is also located on the extra product label included in the package contents.

 

  1. Ensure your Smart Meter is provisioned to allow devices to join.
  2. Power up the ZB Appliance Module.
  3. The Power/ZigBee LED will be solid green for 15 seconds to indicate there is power to the device.
  4. Then, the Power/ZigBee LED will start blinking orange to indicate it is scanning for a network.
  5. Upon successfully joining, the Power/ZigBee LED will be solid green.



Connecting to the Jetlun Energy Manager or Jetlun eBox locally

Follow the instructions that came with your Energy Manager or Jetlun eBox and log into the local web server.

  1. Once logged in, on the main menu, select Setup > ZigBee and you will land on the below screen. The Setup > ZigBee page is divided into three main sections.
  2. Specify the Channel ID, Power Level and PAN ID.
  3. Click the Form button to form the ZigBee network on the Energy Manager/ eBox.
  4. Ensure the Form button becomes a Leave button and the ZigBee LED on the Energy Manager or eBox light up solid green.
  5. Next, select an option to configure Joining Permissions.
  6. Once selected, click on the Execute button. The ZigBee LED on the Energy Manager or eBox will turn solid orange. 
  7. Skip this step if your Energy Manager is running Home Automation Profile. Only perform this step if your Energy Manager is running Smart Energy Profile. Enter the EUI and Install Code of the ZB Appliance Module and click Add.
  8. Power the ZB Appliance Module.
  9. The Power/ZigBee LED will be solid green for 15 seconds to indicate there is power to the device.
  10. Then, the Power/ZigBee LED will start blinking orange to indicate it is scanning for a network.
  11. Upon successfully joining, the Power/ZigBee LED will be solid green.


NOTE: In general, you can leave the Channel ID and PAN ID to its default settings. For Advanced Users, if you have more than one ZigBee Networks, please ensure that each ZigBee network have a different Channel ID and PAN ID. The PAN ID must be 4 Hex characters. (From 0000 to FFFF.)



Connecting to the Jetlun Energy Manager or Jetlun eBox through the MyJetlun portal

During the initial setup of myJetlun, it will walk you step-by-step on how to connect devices to the portal. The below instructions explain how to add a device after the initial setup process.

  1. Log into the myJetlun portal with your credentials.
  2. Once logged in, on the main menu, select Devices and you will land on the Devices page.
  3. Underneath the list of devices, click on the Add Device button. 
  4. Follow the step-by-step process online on how to add a device to the myJetlun portal.


Connecting to the Jetlun Energy Manager or Jetlun eBox through the Jetlun Mobile App 2.0

The below instructions assumes you have already downloaded and installed the Jetlun Mobile App 2.0 onto your Android/ IOS device, as well as already an account through the Jetlun Mobile app.


  1. Log into the Jetlun Mobile app.
  2. Tap on Devices.
  3. Tap on Add a Device and the ZigBee LED on your Jetlun Energy Manager or eBox will turn solid green.
  4. Tap on Network.
  5. Tap on Jetlun ZB Appliance MOdule.
  6. Physically Power up your ZB Appliance Module within 30 meters from the Jetlun Energy Manager or eBox.
  7. Click Scan and the ZigBee LED on your Jetlun Energy Manager or eBox will turn solid orange.
  8. The App will say, scanning.
  9. When the device is discovered, customize your ZB Appliance Module.
